Cursillo
#160
My
dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
De
Colores! How amazing to be preparing for Cursillo
#160 and to be filled with such peace, and I mean
the kind of peace that passes all understanding!
For months the Lord has been preparing the team
for #160 to be vessels of His presence, and before
that the Lord was conditioning this rector to
fully rely on Him. It is when we accept we cannot
do this task by ourselves, but relinquish control
to our Heavenly Father and pray for his guidance
that we free ourselves to fully enter into His
will and experience that peace that passes all
understanding.
Words
and phrases such as “the peace that passes
all understanding”,” fully rely on
God”, “the light of Christ”,
and “when in doubt pray” have all
taken on new significance as preparations for
the weekend continue. Each time we have met as
a team to worship together, to get to know each
other better, to practice those “long boring
talks”, and to prepare to serve the participants;
one goal has been upper most in our preparation,
to develop an intimacy with Christ that results
in our own ability to be more like Christ. It
is our hope that Cursillo #160 will provide the
participants with the experience that will help
them develop that same intimacy with Christ that
will serve them well beyond the days of the weekend
and into their fourth day for many years to come.
The team for Cursillo #160 is so grateful for
your prayers, your palanca and the many ways you
make it possible for us to do our best. It is
with joy we anticipate the arrival of the participants
at Camp St. Christopher on July 22, 2010. As each
of us has experienced in our time, we know St.
Christopher is holy ground, a place where the
Holy Spirit breathes amazing life into the very
air. I ask you to pray that each participant will
be open to experience that life changing Spirit,
fully accepting the Father’s grace and enter
into a greater commitment to our Lord and Savior.
I
look forward to greeting you and celebrating with
the new Cursillistas as they join with the fourth
day community at Clausura on July 25 and at the
Ultreya at St. George’s, Summerville on
August 7, 2010. Please continue to support the
Cursillistas as they return to the world away
from St. Christopher, help them find a Reunion
Group and encourage their attendance at Diocesan
Ultreyas.
Ultreya!
FHS,
Mary

For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I
have made you a light for the Gentiles that you
may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”
